yesterday (Aug,3) was a very short day. i wanted to apply for an internship at the Midrand Reporter, this is a local newspaper in Midrand, however, like every company, they require a curriculum vitae as well as an application letter. im only 19 years old, i dont have much qualififcations but i would like to try and get myself in. it is not debatable that im not the only applicant, however i feel that varsity students, as well as highschool students should be given an opportunity to teach themselves about a career they would like to go into one day. In highschool i participated in a job shadowing programme, i went to soweto tv and i saw the practical of television productions. its quiet interesting and its a great platform for those who would like to pursue television productions as a career for themselves one day.

A friend of mine, Matsheme, has been given a feature to work on, which is about womens day. Womans day is a memorable day where women marched to the union buildings, in resistance to pass laws on the 9th August 1956. women from different backgrounds, races as well as areas participated in the march as a unity. They came out in large numbers, some injured, some left their domestic work and some even went there with children of the people they worked for. This day is therefore marked as a public holiday in South Africa, and the Union buildings is the monument that represents the events that occured during those days. The worth of a woman shouldnt be mistaken by anything, in a sense of emotional, verbal, physical, mental as well as sexual abuse, therefore we take a stand against any form of abuse, as a young South African Citizen.

My short term goal has been fulfilled. totally proud of the ambition instilled within me. i just wish everything goes well in a sense of closing the complicated chapter of my educational life at MGI. it is so strange how dissatisfied one could be about a certain module in their desired course. i could relate this to the 7 modules that make up my first level. i enjoy them all, but i hate demanding modules. it is therefore unfortunate that ALL MY JOURNALISM MODULES ARE DEMANDING.... SHOOO!....JUST HAD TO LASH IT OUT.... its quiet scary...
but remember.... Education is the key to success.
...signing out.

it is my first year at the Midrand Graduate Institute. i went through the first simester with the grace of God. my fear was to meet different personalities from different backgrounds, however it comes to show that different people better your self identity. Journalism is my choice of career due to the fact that ive always wanted to acquire the skill to write a book, and get rich from expressing my views of life. im more into broadcasting in a sense of getting exposure through my worth as a journalism student.i wont lie, its tough, as we all strive to obtain the Bachelor of Arts, journalism degree.
