A friend of mine, Matsheme, has been given a feature to work on, which is about womens day. Womans day is a memorable day where women marched to the union buildings, in resistance to pass laws on the 9th August 1956. women from different backgrounds, races as well as areas participated in the march as a unity. They came out in large numbers, some injured, some left their domestic work and some even went there with children of the people they worked for. This day is therefore marked as a public holiday in South Africa, and the Union buildings is the monument that represents the events that occured during those days. The worth of a woman shouldnt be mistaken by anything, in a sense of emotional, verbal, physical, mental as well as sexual abuse, therefore we take a stand against any form of abuse, as a young South African Citizen.
